Captain Marlena took a deep breath. They were finally ready. Everything was coordinated. Her dad, Duke Grendel, was preparing to launch their attack at any moment. Yaddle was on call, sitting in the engine room.

Captain Marlena said, “Yaddle, when the cloaking device is on. We will be cloaked?”

Yaddle said, “Aye, well not really. We will be camouflaged as space debris. That is the best I could do under the circumstances.”

“Thanks, that will do. When the fighting starts we will wait until the fight begins then we will swoop into earth,” Captain Marlena said.

Commander Giles said, “Captain, we have got a transmission from General Romo. He wishes us good luck. Duke Grendel also said happy hunting.”

Captain Marlena said, “Place the battle on the front screen.”

The main screen of the bridge showed the picture of Earth with the large Vvong battle ships orbiting the planet. They had not moved. Then suddenly the Vvong ships broke orbit.

“Zoom out,” Captain Marlena said.

She saw Duke Grendel’s fleet starting their attack run. She saw several of the smaller space craft converge on the Vvong ships. Explosions and blasts shot along each of the ships. Both battle lines were drawn, and the fighting became intense. Captain Marlena wanted to give the command to attack, but that was not her role here. Then Commander Giles said, “Captain, we’re getting an odd transmission, and it is coming from earth.”

Captain Marlena felt something was happening, and she thought she knew what it was. She said, “Go ahead. Let me hear it.”

Commander Giles said, “It is not a magical transmission. I don’t understand it is from an emergency channel we haven't used in a long time.”

“Can you decipher it?” She said.

“Yes,” Commander Giles said. “Give me a moment. Ah, here we go. It is a magical message. It reads, ‘Hello Marlena we have been waiting for you and we wait for you to come! We will give you our coordinates when you are here.’”

Captain Marlena said, “Who is this from?”

“The transmission just said from the Illuminati,” Commander Giles said.

“Ah,” Captain Marlena said.

She remembered the Illuminati camp that was in Austin and how they fought against the tide of monstrous creatures. She wondered if this was from the same group. Captain Marlena wondered if this was a trick.

Commander Giles said, “Should we answer?”

“No, not yet.”

“How did we get this transmission?”

Commander Giles said, “It is from a Glimmer stone.”

“We will have to ask them how they knew we were out here,” Captain Marlena said.

They sat for a while looking at the battle; it was not going well for Duke Grendel's forces. It was as if the Vvong enemy knew Duke Grendel’s tactics. Then Captain Marlena remembered Duke Volterus became a traitor and was probably directing some fighting.

Captain Marlena said, “Ok, this is about the time. All ahead full.”

They moved out of the Saturn’s planets that encircled it. They moved forward.

She said, “Is there any Vvong ships out here?”

“No, we have been scanning and we're clear,” the communications officer said.

Captain Marlena watched the battle.

“Commander Giles, is there an area, we can warp into?” Captain Marlena said.
